- Every time you look at yourself tell yourself out loud (yes, thats right talk to yourself) one thing that you like/love about yourself, it can be anything from your personality to your legs.
- Any time a negative thought pops into your head, like 'my legs look really fat today', change it into 'today my arms look really good'. Use your negative energy for something positive.
- Instead of focusing on what you look like try to focus more on friends and family. Spend more time with them, organise events, days out, things to look forward to; your mind will become much less focused on your looks and more about the quality of your life.
- If you weight train, focus on strength, instead of aiming to be a certain weight or look a certain shape, focus on increasing strength, how much you can lift, your energy levels etc.
- Eat REAL food, I totally believe in moderation but Im a strong believer in eating a lot go whole foods. They make you feel good on the inside and out. Nutritious whole foods will give you more energy and provide your body with essential nutrients, making you feel much better about yourself. Likewise, I would never suggest eating only 'clean' foods,
- Having goals is great and I strongly recommend creating specific goals for yourself but don't get so caught up in them that you cant focus on NOW. Living in the moment is very important and learning to love your body for what it is now rather than always focusing on the next thing.
- Appreciate all the small things your body can do. Every second your body is functioning, breathing, transporting, digesting, moving, laughing, running, jumping.... Be grateful for all the wonderful things your body is able to do; not everyone is that lucky.
- Do something nice for yourself, take a bath, read a book, paint your nails, just have some 'me time' on your own.
- And lastly, surround yourself with positive people, it is much easier to feel good about yourself if you are surrounded by people that love and care for you and can enjoy life together.
