As I am currently training for my first marathon today was purely devoted to running ( and a little core ).
On Fridays I do a medium length run; today its 8km. I always finish my runs with lots of stretching, foam rolling and then head home to ice my muscles and drain the lactic acid.
Today I decided to do some core work before heading home. I never do the same 'ab' workout twice, in fact I never do ab workouts. I simply combine core exercises into my other workouts (mainly because I find working abs incredibly boring lol).
This was the core workout I completed today:
15 10kg decline sit ups
15 10kg decline russian twists
20 hanging leg raises
20 lying leg lifts
40 crunches
1 min plank
30 toe touches
30 bicycle crunches
15 crunch machine - 35kg
Repeat 3-5 times!
